Aaron's story of struggles with addiction throughout his life arising from his childhood sexual and domestic abuse trauma hasn't gone unnoticed. He was featured in a Mental Health & Lifestyle publication, Toi Magazine, a podcast with a recognized mental health platform, Minding Your Mind, and non-profit mental health organizations, such as Voices Beyond Assault, The Lotus Movement and IkSahara Foundation. Aaron's mission is to spread awareness and help destigmatize mental health, sexual abuse, and addiction. Now he continues his advocacy as your podcast host for Beneath The Mask Podcast, which aims to continue this mission through personal commentary and conversations with fellow survivors. Aaron also advocates as a student through academic writing and is currently writing a book.
Additionally, Aaron celebrates nearly 8 years of sobriety which is his life's most outstanding achievement. His sincerity paved the way for him to marry the love of his life, achieve a career and academic success, become a proud father of two beautiful boys and now, his work as an advocate. His little family is the force that motivates him to continue his advocacy work in hopes of helping create a world where his children, along with future generations, can live transparently, without fear of stigma.
Aaron IS a SURVIVOR. He has evolved from victim to owner, liberated and empowered from facing his trauma and healing on his own terms. Now he fights to help those living in silence to let them know, "You are not alone.'"
He is also generally very loud on social media.
Beneath The Mask Podcast is hosted by Aaron Sharma. He lives, works, and podcasts from Vancouver, BC, Canada. He is a writer, speaker, and advocate for: mental health, adult survivors of sexual abuse and addiction and is available to travel for speaking engagements.

In this magazine I write about my traumatizing experiences with childhood domestic and childhood and adolescence sexual abuse. I write about the long lasting effects of my trauma such as identity crisis, addiction, confusion, self sabotage, unworthiness, failed relationships, and so much more and write about how these decapitating lifelong adversities effected my adolescence, manhood, adulthood and parenthood, before revealing my trauma two and half decades later.
